Teen Tuesday – Duck Dynasty and Family Values

I love Duck Dynasty!  I honestly don’t watch TV all that often and I’m not hooked onto any shows to where I have to watch every single episode.  But this show is one of my favorites because of what it stands for.  With the trend of shows like Jersey Shore, Teen Mom, Family Guy, and Modern Family that distorts the image of what family and healthy relationships should look like.  I love that the family in Duck Dynasty shows how real, faith-based families thrive, that you don’t have to curse and get angry with each other all the time, and that family isn’t boring if you’re missing all that drama.  It’s intriguing and different to a world that craves good family examples, even if it doesn’t realize it does.  Obviously, we’re not all going to grow huge beards, hunt, and live the way they do, but we can still all learn some valuable lessons from them.

If you click on the picture, it’ll take you to an article that I saw on Facebook recently about Duck Dynasty with some very solid points.  I completely agree with everything he said about the show, and he even gives more insight into the family’s faith behind the scenes.  Click on it and read it!  You won’t regret it.  🙂

Just to draw to interest, let me give you a few of my favorite lines from the article:

“We are exhausted from relationships gone awry, and Duck Dynasty is like some funny, bearded, camouflaged oasis that reminds us that family can work.”

“They are swimming against the current of culture in a sea of liberal media bias, but, miraculously enough, they are making it.” – Amen to that!
