Fun Friday – Soundtrack sneak peak

One of the posts I’m doing for my blog tour (coming soon!) is my soundtrack for Shadow Eyes.  I’ve chosen 6 songs that I think fit very well, but the last one is just amazing!  I wanted to share this one here, but you’ll get the full Soundtrack Guest Post on March 12th.  If you’ve read Shadow Eyes, tell me this is not the BEST SONG EVER for the ending!  Check out the music video on youtube here, and read some of the lyrics and my explanation of why it fits so well below.  🙂

“Shooting Star” by Owl City

I absolutely LOVE this song!  I can’t say enough how awesome of a fit it is for the ending of Shadow Eyes too!!!  I was trying to find one more song that fit the hopefulness of the ending, and this one fit the bill perfectly!  I mean, if you read my book, right after you read the ending, you should immediately play this song – mixed with the gratifying closure of the ending, it’ll lift your spirits and have you shining for days!  You’ll obviously have to read the book to truly grasp this one, but here’s a tidbit of the lyrics to give you at least the flavor of the ending.

Way up in the air, you’re finally free, and you can stay up there, right next to me.
All this gravity will try to pull you down, but not this time.

When the sun goes down, and the lights burn out,
Then it’s time for you to shine.
Brighter than the shooting star, so shine no matter where you are.
Fill the darkest night, with a brilliant light,
’cause it’s time for you to shine.
Brighter than a shooting star, so shine no matter where you are, tonight.
