Teen Tuesday – The Sequel is done!!!

Okay, when I say the sequel for Shadow Eyes is done, I mean for now…because my editor hasn’t gotten her hands on it yet.  But I have finally finished revising and hacking away on my own.  Ready for the total word count?  First, let me remind you that I started with 144,000 words upon first finishing.  I don’t know how that happened.  I need to pay better attention to that next time…

Anyhoo…

I managed to get it down to 119,000!  Yea!!!  I chopped a short novel from my novel!  Now, 119,000 words is still really long.  Shadow Eyes is 108,500 words.  To give you another basis for comparison, Twilight was 120,000.  Now, when Musa prints books, there are way more words per page than Twilight.  Shadow Eyes was about 365 pages, so this book should be about 400 (I think Twilight was around 500).  Not too bad I guess.  We’ll see what the editor says, I guess, but I did what I could.

One last thing, if you’re wondering about the title…  I’ve been keeping that a secret, but I will reveal it soon.  As soon as I get the okay from my editor/Musa, I’ll have a virtual reveal party!  Woo-hoo!  Not sure what all that will entail…but it will be fun for sure!  🙂

By the way, if you haven’t read the first one, you’d better get on that ASAP so you’ll be ready to read the sequel when it comes out!  🙂  Click on the cover below to read the blurb, excerpt, and buy from Musa.  You can also get it on Amazon or any other online bookstore.  Also, just a reminder – you don’t have to be a teenager to enjoy this book.  Check all the reviews on Amazon and Goodreads if you need some convincing.  🙂
